Last November our partners Pietro P Speziale and David Sastre traveled to Colombia to attend different meetings with the largest promoters in the country. In this way, they were able to explain first-hand the new alliance between Tomás Villa Arquitectura and COSMOS IVICSA.
The Colombian real estate market is booming. The dynamics of the building sector in the country has been maintained, despite the expectations generated by the economic slowdown.
This is confirmed by the area approved for different projects revealed by DANE in its annual analysis, which places Bogotá, Cundinamarca and Antioquia with potential for construction in progress and others with future projections.Housing, with government programs, have boosted demand; however, there are other uses that also move the market, including corporate developments and others that mix hotels, commerce and housing.
COSMOSIVICSA is studying different low-income housing projects both in Medellín and Bogotá.
In addition, the desire to leave the city during the pandemic and teleworking were decisive for more people to want to buy or rent a home in Eastern Antioquia. This is explained by its proximity to the Valle de Aburrá, the more rural environment and the mega infrastructure works in mobility and transport that have been carried out. COSMOSIVICSA is currently developing single-family homes in the areas of Rionegro, El Retiro and La Ceja.
